Lucetta Furr-Snider

Artistic Director


Lucetta Furr-Snider is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Instructor. She is the Company Director and 10-year member of the Capitol Movement Dance Company in D.C., performing and instructing dance in the DMV area, and spent several weeks performing and teaching for the military overseas in several different cities. Lucetta owns and directs both the Woodbridge Academy of Dance and Woodbridge Dance Company since 2003. She is a member of the Prince William Arts and Virginia Commission for the Arts Councils, and in 2017 was the recipient of Potomac Local’s Forty Under Forty for her leadership in the Arts. Lucetta has studied and/or worked with many dance artists such as Joe Tremaine, Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Joe Webb, and the dancers of Tap Dog. She sang in the Stand for Children event hosted by Rosie O’Donnell in Washington, D.C. Lucetta attended The Juilliard School of Performing Arts, The Joffrey Ballet School in New York, and was a principal dancer of the Center Dance Company, VA. Lucetta’s talent has won her several choreography awards at local competitions. She also choreographs optional level floor routines for area gymnasts.
