The Capitol Movement Dance Company enables professional dancers to showcase the innovative work of local and international choreographers, elevating the quality and integrity of various dance forms in Washington, DC. A regularly sought after, versatile, and crowd pleasing group, Capitol Movement Dance Company members have toured overseas for "Freedom Tours" partnering with Armed Forces Entertainment, performed for the unveiling of the new Ferrari F12berlinetta, appeared throughout the DC area as features and guests of dance productions, and taught a multitude of classes to all ages, levels, and socioeconomic ranges.
Auditions for the Company are held in the fall each season. Under the direction of Shontal Snider & Lucetta Furr- Snider, company dancers train in and perform jazz, contemporary, hip hop, modern, and/or tap.
Once in the company, dancers are required to attend two monthly classes at Capitol Movement Studio on Friday nights and rehearse on some Fridays and Sundays to prepare for Capitol Movement Project, additional dance events and special guest performances.

The Capitol Movement Dance Company is a versatile and vibrant repertory group that provides a platform for local and international choreographers to showcase their innovative work. Each year the Company partners with community organizations, schools, and private companies to present its work here and abroad, having previously performed at US service bases in Puerto Rico, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Egypt, Japan, Turkey, and Cuba. CMDco performs all may styles of dance from Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz and African as well as singing and spoken word.
