Welcome to CMI Kidz
The CMI Kidz are aspiring dancers, ages 5-12, with a love for dance, but not necessarily prior dance training. Under the direction for Taylor Hawkins & Vihky Smith, the CMI Kidz learn hip-hop and basic technique fundamentals from experienced and talented choreographers.
The CMI Kidz Program began as the Junior Wizards Dance Team and Mystic Mayhem Dance Team. In 2012, The CMI Kidz were founded and performed for the Olympic USA Basketball Team exhibition in Washington, DC, where President Obama and Vice President Biden were in attendance. Since then dancers have performed throughout the DC area, sharing their love for hip-hop dance. The season runs from September to May each year, culminating in a final production, the Capitol Movement Project.
